PAUL JOHNSON

Paul has over 30 years experience in the entertainment industry. He is a producer with a degree in Mass Communication and Film from the University of California, Berkeley. Ex board member of BAFTA, The International Emmys, Nielsen Media Entertainment (The Hollywood Reporter), Reed Elsevier/ Reed Midem (MIP Markets), the Endemol Group and the Al Jazeera Media Network and now Tuvalu Entertainment Ltd.

While Director of MIPTV and MIPCOM (The world’s largest audiovisual content markets in Cannes, France) he grew the revenues for these global entertainment content markets over 100% in six years while increasing transactional business in Cannes from €2 billion to €10 billion in the same period of time for the specific mutual benefit of all the MIP clients. At Endemol he was involved in the global production and distribution that included Jerry Seinfeld’s The Marriage Ref, Deal or No Deal, WIPEOUT, 101 Ways to Leave a Gameshow, the drama series Julia’s Tango, The Whole 19 Yards and, of course, Big Brother. At Al Jazeera Paul was responsible and the Executive Director for Production, Distribution, Marketing and Advertising for all their 30 global channels.

At Tuvalu Entertainment Paul created and executive produced the BBC ONE hit Gameshow called The Link. The Link captured more than six million viewers during an early afternoon BBC1 time slot. It created a much larger audience than some other UK channels received in Prime Time slots! The Link is globally distributed by Warner Bros.

Paul is now producing the female drama One Bad Apple for Nordic Entertainment Group/ VIAPLAY and Europe’s largest TV station: – German Television ZDF Enterprises, a new game show called Who Knows Where? with Ben Silverman and Propagate Content in Los Angeles, a tent pole biopic called Quillen directed by Martin Campbell and co-produced by Mark Huffam and the Aruba Beach Tennis Open for Eurosport and ESPN reaching over 100 million viewers across Europe and the Americas. The Aruba Beach Tennis Open is produced by ITN Sports Productions.

Paul’s core experience is in managing large-scale production projects from £10 million to in excess of £100 million. He has a very strong marketing background and a premium production style quality is very much a part of his DNA. His skill is in understanding how to finance, market/ package and produce a film or TV production on a small or large scale.

Paul is co-creator and co-owner of Innovators That Changed The World, IMAX 3D: The Movies, SUGARLAND, Infiltrators. Paul owns all global rights to QUILLEN and the Jim Quillen story.
