BETWEEN GOOD AND EVIL BEGINS.

SYNOPSIS

Day of the Demon is a horror series about two teenage girls caught in a deadly rivalry that could alter the fate of the world. At Britain’s prestigious Staunton school, a popular student shockingly takes her own life during a chemistry class, triggering a series of events involving murder, possession, and madness. Lydia Amory, a bright scholarship student with a dark family past, is determined to uncover the truth behind the deaths. Meanwhile a privileged American “It” girl, Mercy Emerson, daughter of a famous internet influencer, arrives at Staunton for a fresh start, only to discover not only that her father is the Devil, but that her job is to enable him to return in triumph to take over the Earth.

He tells her that ancient artifacts buried around the school form a protective barrier between Earth and him. Her mission is to destroy them, while Lydia Amory’s heritage obliges her to protect them. As if navigating high school life wasn’t challenging enough, a hideous demonic emissary known as Baghead is sent to aid Mercy, possessing staff and students alike and causing a wave of horrifying violence. With paranoia gripping the school, and no one knowing who will die next, the stage is set for an epic battle. It’s “The Omen” meets “Riverdale” in an English boarding school, where the future of the world is at stake.

THEMES

Day of the Demon explores identity, coming of age, free will and destiny. The challenges of fighting a predator and fending off Satan parallel those of very real adolescent dilemmas. Our heroine’s physical journey mirrors our target audience’s own maturation and self-discovery. The show is a young adult set in a horror context, a dark-lensed world full of uncertainty and danger. Fear is a powerful motivator that often arouses the strongest passions, and sexuality and desire are a powerful current running throughout the series. The big takeaway is how to look at yourself and be proud of that person, allowing you to push fear out of your life and step into your destiny.

TONE

The series could be compared to American Horror Story and The Hunger Games, with a dash of Stranger Things and Riverdale. A fast paced, quick witted, edgy teen horror adventure tale. Adult themes of murder and sexuality are mixed with true coming-of-age pathos and heartbreak.
